A PASSION TO SERVE

This piece marks my first production for All Hands Magazine. It covers the story of Frida Karani - an amazing chef, Sailor and human being - from her youth in Kenya to becoming one of the most celebrated Culinary Specialists in the Navy. She even won an episode of Chopped!

THOSE WHO WEAR THE WHEEL

I shot the footage and interviews for this piece while underway for three weeks with the crew of USS Preble for the 2018 Rim of the Pacific exercise. The piece explains the history and importance of Quartermasters and the Navigation Department aboard vessels around the world.

NO ORDINARY DAY

In early 2019 I was approached about running a recruiting campaign for the Flag Writer community (think administrative personnel for senior executives within the Navy). Instead of a standard video, I decided to try my hand at an animated explainer video - this is the result.

NAVSCIATTS

The Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School is a hidden gem of the fleet. Tucked away on the coast of Mississippi, the school trains special forces from more than 120 different partner nations around the world.

SNIPE'S LAMENT

Snipes, in the Navy, is a term for Sailors who work below deck and in the engine spaces of ships - the name coming from a now legendary engineer who fought for fair treatment for his men at sea. Snipe's Lament is a a poem honoring their community. I saw the entirety of the work engraved on the door of the Engineering Division office aboard USS Prebel, and this homage came to be.
